17 Jan 2020 January 17, 2020 – Meeting: “The way the wind is blowing: the case of cyclone Vaia”
The last public meeting of the first cycle of events promoted by the LIFE project “BEWARE – BEtter Water-management for Advancing Resilient-communities in Europe”, led by the Municipality of Santorso, is scheduled for Friday 17th of January 2020.
During the meeting “The way the wind is blowing: the case of cyclone Vaia” – which will take place at 20:30 in the Secondary School Cipani in Santorso – experts will provide in-depth information about the case of the cyclone which hit Northern Italy (Triveneto) in October 2018.
Anna Sella, nature guide and environmental consultant together with Damiano Zanocco, Lavarone (TN) and Luserna (TN) forest guardian, will talk about the damages cyclone Vaia caused to the ecosystem and local economy and about how communities responded to the event which damaged a considerable amount of timber equal to seven times that harvested from Italian forests in a whole year.
